Protecting our Pohutukawa Trees. Project Crimson

 Project
Crimson is a charitable conservation trust that aims to protect New
Zealand's native Christmas trees - pohutukawa and rata.
It is sponsored by Carter Holt Harvey in partnership with the Department
of Conservation.
Since the Trust was formed in 1990, volunteers have successfully
established hundreds of thousands of pohutukawa and rata trees.
Project Crimson also funds scientific research, community and school
planting projects, and a range of environmental protection activities.
The Project Crimson Vision: "To
enable pohutukawa and rata to flourish again in their natural habitat
as icons in the hearts and minds of all New Zealanders."
The Project Crimson Trust has a talented and extraordinarily
knowledgeable group of Trustees based nation-wide, whose drive, leadership
and commitment to Project Crimson’s vision is inspirational.
