Ohope Community Board

The Ohope Community Board is made up of 6 community representatives and the Ohope Ward Councillor who are elected from the community of Ohope on a three yearly basis through the local government electoral system.

The Board generally oversees Council activities within the Ohope and Otarawairere Community areas including roading, sewage, stormwater, water, parks, town planning and general activities. The Board meets on a 6 weekly basis on a Monday evening at 5.30 pm at the Ohope Fire Station. Members of the public are welcome to attend although they do not have speaking rights. Once a year they meet to discuss the budget and works programme for the year - this is usually in mid February. On-going matters, including the commencement of budgeted projects are brought up at the normal meetings and Members are consulted on a variety of issues. A financial report is presented at the end of every quarter.
