Kia ora, welcome to Ohope Beach School.

Ohope Beach School is a great place to work and learn. We have nearly 300 wonderful children who are
encouraged to do their very best at all times.

We set lofty, but achievable, expectations for all of our children. We insist on high standards of behaviour and our children make us proud by achieving this. We have a zero tolerance for bullying and our children are acknowledged for their good behaviour. Our focus on the positive helps to add to the great atmosphere around our school.

The staff at our school are exceptional. They are all trained professionals whose number one goal is to
improve the learning of the children at our school. Our staff are trained in 'Whole Brain Learning' and they are all very aware of catering for the individual needs of every child in their class.

In the classrooms our Staff concentrate on teaching a solid 'Core Curriculum'. The focus is on Literacy and Numeracy. We believe that our children need to be taught the basics well. However, we proudly offer our children additional opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. These include: extension programmes, music lessons, kapa haka, choir, school productions, school excursions /camps, Australasian Tests and a large variety of sporting events and activities.

The addition of our new computer suite and staff professional development in this area ensures that our children are developing wonderful skills that will see them succeed as part of the 'computer generation'.
