2026 Aon New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Championships
The 2026 AON New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships is the highlight of the surf life saving season, with around 1,200 athletes expected to take part.
From seasoned Masters who have lost count of their National appearances to first-time 14-year-old competitors, the Championships welcome all levels of participation and showcase nearly every aspect of surf life saving. Spectators can expect to see New Zealand representatives, surf boat crews, canoes, surf swimmers, beach sprinters, and ski and board paddlers all competing for the title of National Champion.
Returning to Ohope Beach for the first time since 2016, this event invites locals and visitors in Whakatane to celebrate the best of surf life saving sport as athletes compete with friends, clubs, and fellow competitors.
