Ōhiwa Oyster Festival
The Ōhiwa Oyster Festival returns to Port Ōhope Wharf in 2026 for a day of fresh seafood, live entertainment, and local flavours beside the harbour.
Celebrating the start of the oyster season, the festival brings together freshly harvested Ōhiwa oysters, chef demonstrations, tasting experiences, local food vendors, and a wide range of locally crafted drinks. Visitors can also enjoy live performances from well-known New Zealand artists throughout the day.
Highlights include seafood and wine pairing sessions with MasterChef winners Kasey and Karena Bird, competitions, spot prizes, and a lively coastal festival atmosphere.
The 2026 event will also introduce a new VIP experience, expanded food and beverage options, and an enhanced festival layout designed to create an even bigger celebration on the waterfront.
