The Ohope Fire Brigade is a Volunteer Brigade that services the Ohope township and surrounding areas within the Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.

The brigade currently has 14 very dedicated members, many have served in the brigade for a number of years & some have joined in recent times. We all live within the Ohope community and are either employed in town or outside of the district. 

The Ohope Beach Fire Station is situated next to the Ohope Library.

The Ohope Fire Station has one appliance and a van. We answer on average 60-80 calls every year. The types of calls we go to vary from house fires, bon fires, vegetation fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical assistance, rescues, hazardous substance spills, false alarms, industrial fires & incidents and of course natural disasters.

The NZ fire service provides extensive training opportunities, qualifications & various necessities such as uniforms, protective clothing, equipment, appliances, communication systems and insurance. Being a member of your local fire Brigade is “fun & exciting” it is an excellent opportunity to serve & give back to the community we live in.
