As a Māori-owned and operated business, we’re committed to caring for our environment, supporting our community, and continuing a long-standing tradition of innovative aquaculture. Founded in 1968 and now guided by Tangata Whenua, we’re honoured to share the story and flavour of our oyster-farming heritage with you.
At Tio Ōhiwa, our oysters are raised with genuine attention and respect, resulting in premium-quality kai—provided they make it home uneaten! Our journey is a true hikoi, bringing people together through exceptional food and the unmistakable taste of fresh oysters. Along with our renowned oysters, we also serve an enticing menu of seafood dishes, burgers, and other tasty favourites.
Just 1 km south of Ōhope, our waterside location offers the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a meal, and take in panoramic views of Ōhiwa Harbour.
